Testimonials
Since 1982, thousands of people in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and United Kingdom have gained valuable health benefits by practising the Chi Dynamics brand of Qigong. Following is a selection of real-life experiences recounted by those who have benefited from this self-healing art
My Remarkable Recovery from Severe Psoriasis
I have had psoriasis (clinically diagnosed by doctors at the National Skin Centre, Singapore as atopic dermatitis) since birth, and had, in my childhood, kept the condition under control using topical steroids and the occasional course of antibiotics whenever the symptoms got too uncomfortable to bear.
Knowing that the above methods could only provide temporary, symptomatic relief, and that the efficacy of the medicines could reduce over time and even cause undesirable side effects with prolonged use, I sought other forms of treatment, hoping to find a cure for my problem. I have tried TCM, acupuncture, homeopathy, naturopathy, but with dismal results.
Condition at its worst
In April 2010, one of the alternative treatments resulted in the worst flare I have experienced, and sparked off many agonizing years of countless lapses and hospital admissions. Four days after this treatment which involved natural herbal concoctions (the ingredients of which were undisclosed to me) applied all over the body, my skin was uniformly covered in pus-filled sores, raw patches and damp scabs from head to toe; it was a dreadful sight as you can see from the photograph below.
I was immediately rushed to hospital where doctors put me on strong intravenous antibiotics as they felt I was at high risk of sepsis (blood poisoning owing to the widespread infection). This episode resulted in a 2-month long hospital stay.
The uphill task struggling to get well
The subsequent years were spent mostly in a lot of pain and going in and out of hospital. Most times my skin was severely dry and cracked, making it excruciatingly painful to move, or when exposed to even the slightest wind. I was physically very weak, and felt cold even when others in the same room were sweating. Needless to say, I was unable to work during this period of time, and rarely left the house. Although my appetite was often fine, I did not seem to manage to put on any weight. I was around 40 kg at the time.
I could hardly sleep at night because the nerves are more sensitive at night and caused the itch to become unbearable, and slept only in the morning out of sheer exhaustion.
There were periods (usually right after discharge from hospital) where my condition was considerably okay and manageable, and I was able to go outdoors without feeling too much pain and discomfort and attracting too much stares. Unfortunately, these periods never seemed to last more than a month or two.
Most of the time, my skin was very hard, dry and cracked, always flaking off (see photograph below). The skin on my face and extremities were often weepy and swollen.
Meeting Grandmaster Wee
I had the good fortune of meeting and seeking help from Grandmaster Anthony Wee in late 2013 for my condition. At that time my skin condition was more or less as pictured below, maybe just slightly better. I remember it was very painful being in any air-conditioned environment.
At my first session, Grandmaster Wee taught me block breathing which was a rather novel concept to me. At first, I found it tough trying to focus through the pain and itch but managed to get myself relaxed enough to drift off to sleep after 20 minutes.
I admit I did not see Grandmaster Wee every month; some months it was just too painful and difficult for me to endure the trip down to Alexandra Centre. However, I did try my best to practice block breathing every night – I would do so for 30 minutes or so till I dozed off. If I was awakened by itch or pain (which was often the case), I would repeat the process just to be able to sleep.
Amazingly, my condition actually became relatively manageable within 3 months. I was able to go outdoors for short periods. Whenever I felt well enough to (it was usually in the wee hours of morning), I would go on long, slow walks, practicing block breathing while walking.
My condition had improved by leaps and bounds from mid-2014 till today. In retrospect, I realised that emotional stress was the main cause of my prolonged illness. Grandmaster Wee did point out during one of our sessions that I had a lot of bad Qi accumulated at the chest – a sign of poor emotional health.
Through practicing block breathing, I learnt to calm myself down. In the past the discomfort caused by my state consistently kept me in a high-strung, stressed-out mood. With this tool, I was able to conscientiously de-stress myself. I believe this was the main contributory factor in my recovery – through controlling my breathing, I was able to control my mood and emotions, and ultimately rein in the sensations of pain and itch so that they didn’t have a hold over me. This initial improvement allowed me to take up other activities that all helped to improve my condition to its current state.

Self-Healing with QiGong
In February this year, I was diagnosed with sciatica which caused an excruciating pain down my left leg whenever I walk or stand. Following a MRI scan which confirmed that my herniated disc was degenerated and cannot be rejuvenated, I was given two choices by my doctor – either live with the pain with a diet of pain killers for the rest of my life or proceed with a keyhole surgery to remove the herniated disc at L5 which was pressing on the S1.
Reliance on pain killers is not a sustainable solution but any slip up in the ‘simple’ keyhole surgery may render paralysis.
I consulted Grandmaster Anthony Wee who injected confidence in me that self-healing is possible. I went through acupressure cupping every alternate day for a few weeks. After each cupping, a special poultice was applied to all the cupped points.
And very importantly, Grand Master instructed me to lie down as in ‘block breathing’ but to use ‘pi’ exhalation and use the Yi to direct the Qi to the left leg. The objective is to use the Qi to push through the blockage caused by the herniated disc. I practiced this daily for at least 20 minutes a session, till I can feel tingling and vibratory sensations running down my left leg.
By early May I was able to run around and help out in the Chi Dynamics Active Living Workshop. By early July, the pain was completely gone and I could proceed on a long holiday including some trekking on hilly terrains.
Again, I like to thank Grand Master for his treatment and guidance. And also thanks to Sifu Roland Hong who continued with my cupping treatment in Grand Master’s absence.
To our fellow members, do not underestimate the power of the Qi and what it can do for you, particularly with proper guidance.

Backbone problem cured by Qigong
My backbone took a toll on me in 1988 when I started to experience pain whenever I swung my golf clubs. The pain was so intense that it prevented me from playing golf on consecutive days, which was a big blow to an ardent golfer like me.
When X-rays revealed that the pain was caused by the wearing down of my backbone, my doctor offered me two options – take pain killers or go for surgery to grind down the high spots on the backbone. However, there was a small risk with the surgery option as I may end up worse off, which meant no more golf. So what was next?
I consulted Grandmaster Anthony Wee whom I knew for advice. After he explained and convinced me that practising Qigong was a better option than to go for surgery, I immediately signed up for the course which he conducted personally. For 12 months, I attended every training session conscientiously five times a week without fail. This meant that I had to forgo entertainment and other social activities, but the sacrifice was well worth it as after 3 months, I no longer felt the pain after a golf game. My condition continued to improve and subsequently I could manage to play for 3 consecutive days without suffering any pain!
I continued with my Qigong classes with Grandmaster Anthony and eventually graduated as an Instructor. I still practise Chi Dynamics on my own, although not so intensively these days.
If you have second thoughts about Qigong, I can only say that it costs nothing to breath in air. However, one needs dedication and passion to practice the deep breathing exercise daily. Once you have built up a strong immune system in your body, no sickness can attack you. This is exactly what Grandmaster Anthony advocates when he always reminds us that the best cure to any sickness is when you use your own body system to fight it. Taking medicine is only a temporary cure but if you practice Chi Dynamics diligently, you do not need any medicine as I have experienced
"Enjoy and be Happy"! - That's my philosophy in life.

Block breathing exercises helped my cancer recovery
On 6 August 2013, I was rushed to the Hospital as I suddenly felt breathless and could hardly walk beyond five steps.
More than a week later, I was diagnosed with a very rare and slow growing skin cancer. Doctorstold my wife that I hadonly a 50% chance of walking out of the hospital alive as the cancer cells hadalreadyviciously attacked the memory glands and lymph nodes and were spreading like wild fire as evidenced from the PET Scan.
The oxygen level in my lungs had dropped to less than 40%and consequently, the right side of my heart was enlarged due to the exertion on the pulmonary artery that carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. Every day, I dependedon 5 litres of oxygen supply for my breathing. With my cancer marker hittinga high of 50(the normal is between 1 and 5), my recovery process seemed rather bleak.
After a series of chemo treatment, I was discharged from hospital 21 days later. I was weak and felt tired easily as breathing becamea daily challenge.
In October 2013, I was introduced to the Chi Dynamics’ Alexandra Centre at Leng Kee Roadthrough my sister-in law. I was handed a book on Cancer Care which I read briefly. Two key points struck me on how to create a hostile environment for cancer cells. Firstly, Chi Dynamics’ breathing exercises help to inject greater amounts of oxygen to destroy cancer cells, and secondly, they help your body to become more alkaline and boost your immune system.
I then decided to visit the training centre to find out more. The instructors were very kind in walking through with me the various breathing techniques and shared with me the principles and benefits of proper breathing.
I began byfocusingon Block Breathing and Lymphatic Drainage Exercise. As usual, the initial stage was awkwardbut after several practicesessions, I started tomakesome progress. According to Grandmaster, the best time to do Block Breathing is first thing in the morning before onegets out of bed.
Through the exercises, I beganto breathe easier and felt less fatigue. My digestive system alsobecameless disruptive. I went on to set a regular schedule of 30 minutes of Block Breathing per session at least three times a day. My latest blood test taken on 29 Nov 2013 was very encouraging. The cancer marker had plunged downto 6!
In the healing process, I learnt that the Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit are important elements for recovery. Qigong has helped me and I am grateful to Chi Dynamics for itsmission in helping the community with itsholistic approach for Inner Health.

Chi and Asthma
I was born an asthmatic, so far I have seen no less than eight doctors, my condition was quite bad and required periodic medical check-ups. After Sifu treated me, I have never felt better and was very much energized. After ten months of constant and diligent training, my sweating has reduced and health has improved tremendously.

Chi Dynamics helped me to manage menopause
Before I started Chi Dynamics, menopause was a problem. I slept about 3 hrs at night. The doctor started me on the H.R.T. programme. It did help me to sleep better, about 4 hours. I felt lethargic and nothing was of interest to me. I tried taking health supplements which did not help much.
I started Chi Dynamics in Aug. 2002. Initially, I did not experience any change due to not able to attend the class regularly and also not practicing at home. But about 3 months ago, I started to practise half an hour to about an hour daily. I felt so energized that I could participate in a lot of activities during my free time.
I stopped taking the hormone H.R.T. 2 months ago and am doing well. I believe Chi Dynamics has made the difference for me.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Senior Instructor Ron Song who generously gives his time to help us. I would also like to thank Nicholas, Anthony and Lawrence for guiding me.

Chi, my eyes and my ligament
After practising Chi Dynamic Breathing and Chi Meditation exercise for about 2 years, I wish to share my personal experiences and views with others.
I have always been interested in learning Qi Gong, as I have heard so much about the art and the benefits to be derived from practising this ancient exercise since I was young. My search for a Qigong Master was long and fruitless. In retrospect, I was exposed to martial arts during my younger days as my maternal grandpa was one of the renowned martial artists in Kuala Lumpur.
I have never met a real life Qi Gong Master for the past 15 years but the opportunity presents itself in 2000 when Master Anthony Wee was introduced to me. I attended a preview of Chi Dynamics with much eagerness. Then, I proceeded to enroll for the Chi Dynamics exercise class which I find it very beneficial.
My first lesson on Chi Dynamics was awe-inspiring. What is most amazing is the effectiveness of the set of exercises performed which is able to generate the energy within. The Chi breathing exercises and Chi meditation techniques encompass a wide range of movements to harness Chi both from within and without our body. Chi Dynamics has breathed a new life and introduced a meaningful concept of the energy centres to me.
Health wise, I have never had any serious ailments, apart from a torn ligament on my lower back and a recurring eye problem. My eyes have always been problematic, as it is often very dry and tired. I began using eye-wash followed by eye drops on a daily basis, at least three times a day. My eye sight did not improve but deteriorated instead. The pain and discomfort was most excruciating when I did not have a good night sleep. There was this feeling of tension and tightness around my eye balls at times. One morning when I opened my eyes, I saw thousands of black dots like tadpoles, so-called floaters, on my left eye. Later in that day, I began to see flashes of light at the corner of my eyes when I turn my head. The next day, I was compelled to consult an eye specialist and I was told I had a torn retina. There was nothing much that the specialist could do except he advised me to take a few days off and to rest my eyes. I was warned that if this condition persisted, I have to go for a laser treatment to solder the spots on the retina, where I had a tear. If the laser treatment failed, the last alternative was to go for an eye surgery.
Well, my condition did improve after a short rest and so the laser treatment was not necessary, but there were still some remaining black dots and cloudy vision which inevitably I have to live with. However, in less than a year, I went through the same torment but now on the right eye. My break through out of this eye problem was when I enrolled for the Chi Dynamic class. As a matter of fact, I actually forgot that I used eye drops once upon a time, until I saw somebody doing it.
Another experience which I want to share with you is in relation to acu-cupping. I moved office and it coincided with my house renovation. As usual, there were a lot of packing, moving things around, cleaning and unpacking work to be done. In the process, I aggravated an old injury, my torn ligament and the pain spread to my left leg. I could not even lift my left leg when I stepped into my car. Neither could I sit down nor stand up for a long period, as I have this numbness feeling on my lower back. I had to lie down and sleep on my right side. I just could not turn to my left side as my body weight caused a pulling sensation at the lower back which travels down to my left leg. I was so afraid that I would be paralysed.
On 16th June 2002, we had our official opening of the Secretariat and Sifu came to officiate the ceremony. Free therapeutic cupping for instructors was also included in the programme. I was the first to be treated, a large sore patch at my lower back in hues of black and dark blue appeared, after having done the acu-cupping. I was informed that I had internal bleeding probably along the capillaries at my lower back. Sifu applied some herbal concoction with bandages on my lower back and I was advised to keep it on for 24 hours. It was an instant relief and I slept soundly with only minor discomfort, as I had not slept well for 2 weeks.

Conquering Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
For the last 2 years I have been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome. After trying every imaginable treatment from so many different fields, I was on the verge of losing hope of finding something or someone to help me.
Then I was told about Sifu Anthony Wee, although not about anything he did. When I first met Sifu, I knew he was someone special. He asked me what my problem was and went straight into the treatment for me. He used Acu-cupping to clear my energy channels.
After the session with Sifu, I felt absolutely exhausted. I was covered with large blue and black marks on my body and felt as if I’d just gone 12 rounds with him. I went straight home and flaked out in bed and my thoughts were “I’m not going to do that again”. The next morning, surprisingly, I woke up feeling quite refreshed. This was an odd feeling because I hadn’t felt anything like this for over a year. After two days, I felt great.
I go to Chi Dynamic and Chi Meditation classes and have the occasional treatment. I owe a debt of gratitude to Sifu, Shane and Robyn for their help. In my humble opinion, this treatment and the Chi Dynamics breathing classes have been the most important part of my recovery and I recommend it to others.

Life goes on, thanks to Block Breathing!
I was in a stressed out situation for several months nowasmy old de facto John passed away suddenly leaving me with unpaid bills.
I had to sell our little cottage by the river and moved to a two-room unit without a garden, no views, noisy neighbors, etc.
However, life wentgo onas insomnia set inand I experienced frequent headaches, incontinence and sleepless nights.
Then I remembered your block breathing with"pursed lip" exhalation method, and I spent 45 minutes two times a day, some days more, doing it.The effect was almost instant.I felt calmerandbreathing became morerhythmicanddeeper without much effort . Most importantly I could fall asleep not the whole night, but 3 to 4 hours at a go which is a luxury to me. This enabled me to wakeup fresh in the morning, thanks to your coaching in Qigong!

Coping With Liver Cancer and Chemotherapy
Four years ago, I was diagnosed with a melanoma tumour inside the base of my optic nerve, close to my brain. The tumour was removed successfully. I lost my eye, but that seemed a small price to pay to have my life. The rehabilitation was a very traumatic time so I turned to meditation to try and calm myself. This enabled me to recover quickly.
Recently I was shocked to learn that I now have cancer of the liver! Because of my earlier experience, I was more aware, prepared and confident. This time I decided to try different mind and body training techniques and treatment from various cultures. I am convinced that Chi Dynamics and Chi Meditation, as taught by Sifu Anthony Wee, along with Acu-cupping, has given me the greatest benefits I have ever experienced.
Before my first treatment with Sifu, my white and red blood cell counts were so low it was doubtful whether I would be able to continue with the chemotherapy treatment. I had my first session of cupping and breathing with Sifu and went for my blood test. Unbelievably, my blood counts almost doubled. After several sessions, my count went back to normal parameters, even during chemotherapy, which usually has a devastating effect on cell production. I have had virtually no side effects from the chemotherapy. I look and feel so healthy compared to before, that people wonder what I'm doing there, when I walk into the Royal Perth Hospital treatment room.
I stabilised so well and the tumours were contained well enough that they could surgically remove half of my liver. Prior to surgery I was informed that I would be in intensive care for one week and in hospital for a further four weeks at least. I came out of intensive care after 24 hours and was in hospital only 10 days. I attribute this to doing block breathing at least four times a day for the previous 1 year prior to surgery. After the operation, I was told to do diaphragmatic breathing to avoid fluid build-up in the lungs. Fortunately for me, this came naturally because that was what I had been doing since Chi Dynamics.
Four months after that operation, two or three much smaller spots were showing. This required another term of chemotherapy. Since then, I've become much more disciplined in my approach to what I need to do every day for my well-being. My overall routine now incorporates regular blocks of breathing throughout the day, Maroon bush tea morning and night, a major focus on healthy eating habits, a positive attitude with a change in lifestyle, more in keeping with taking good care of myself in mind and body giving me the confidence that I have the ability to heal myself completely.
Sifu and the Chi Dynamics Centre has been the foundation stone to my personal programme of mind and body healing. It has opened my eyes to a whole new quality of life regardless of the fact that I have a life-challenging issue to deal with. I am fortunate to have found this treatment and that Sifu has shown me things I can do, helping me take an active part in my own healing. I would recommend anyone to give it a go, regardless of your health problem, but especially if you are faced with cancer.

Finding A Cure for Migraine After 24 Years
I suffered from migraine headaches for 24 years and never knew the cause. Sometimes during times of stress, there would be sinus symptoms. But one thing was for sure; I would always have two to four every month. Pain relief didn't work because I couldn't keep anything down. The attacks sometimes lasted up to 48 hours.
Last year I quit work, because I felt really bad that I was letting my workmates down because of the headaches and stress. Strangely, I still kept having the headaches.
I tried everything and nothing worked, including chiropractic treatment, osteopathy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, herbs, and vitamins, to name a few. You name it, I have probably tried it, but still I had the headaches.
Out of desperation, I started taking preventative medication, which helped slightly but was not worth the side effects. It was at this time that I first heard about Sifu Anthony Wee.
After one session with Sifu, I started to feel different. The depression lifted and I felt like I was part of the human race again. I took myself off the medication and I haven't looked back since. The Acu-cupping that Sifu used, along with the Chi Dynamics breathing techniques he teaches, has also helped to alleviate my back pain.
I highly recommend Sifu and his techniques as I feel I have my life back after suffering for so many years.

Cured of Pain and mobility without Medicine
My severe headaches, lack of mobility, back and leg pain, Osteo-Arthritis & Ankylosing Spondylitis, has improved dramatically since starting and practicing Chi Dynamics Chi Breathing techniques. I was serious about changing what had been happening to my body over a number of years since an accident, followed by a few operations. I started attending 4 to 5 classes each week.
Initially in class, I couldn't get down on the floor to learn the breathing ( I had disability for 4 years ). I needed to sit most of the time doing the movements. I could not use one of my arms and I had limitations with the other. Walking was difficult; even walking up one more step was painful. There were days I could not move to turn over, or get out of bed, because of the pain.
I could feel something changing from my very first attempt. When some months later, I found out about the Acu-cupping Sifu did in his Clinic, it was a powerful combination to remove the old injuries. It has helped me turn my life round, health-wise! I am proud that I am now a qualified Chi Dynamics Instructor and able to help others.

Fighting Cancer with Chi at 73
Terry, aged 73, was diagnosed with colon cancer 25 years ago. It was surgically removed and he was free of it until January 2002 when he had acute pain in the stomach. An examination showed the cancer in the colon spreading to the lymphatic system. He was unable to undergo chemotherapy because of very low blood count. He lost more than 30 lbs in just a few months and felt very weak.
In desperation he went on Chinese herbs for three months. Then a friend told him about Chi Dynamics breathing therapy founded by Sifu Anthony Wee. Terry immediately agreed and was taught by Senior Instructor Ong Kah Yong and Larry Yong, both volunteers of the Healing Chi Association of Malaysia.
Terry said: "I was asked to lie down and do diaphragmatic breathing with pursed lips which they called Chui method. The effect was almost immediate - a sense of well-being prevailed after the breathing exercises, which I did five times a day. My energy returned. Before, I could not walk properly. After a few months I could even drive myself. Four months after I started practising the Chi Dynamics exercises, the doctor who did the medical test told me that I am free of cancer. It was unbelievable. I know I feel good. I have gained back 18 lbs. I am now going on the Chi Dynamics Instructors Preparation Programme. I want to be an instructor to help others.

Enhancing Healing with External Energy
Robert suffered acute pain in the left leg after he had a nerve transplant. The surgeon took a nerve from his left leg and used it to repair a damaged nerve in the hands. The pain in the leg was so bad that even the slightest touch would send him reeling. I used the non-touch method to relieve his pain - initially from about five feet away, zooming into the pain-affected area, and increasing the flow of the Chi. He was seated comfortably, breathing the Chi Dynamics way that I taught him. As the external Chi flowed to the affected area, “I felt a warm sensation followed by numbness and then the pain eased off,” he said later.
Robert came for three more treatment sessions over two weeks and with his own breathing exercises twice a day at home, after four to five weeks Robert was able to work in his own garden, something he could not do before. Sometimes a little help from an outside energy source (Chi) can enhance the healing response.
The external Chi transmitted managed to release the blood flow into the affected area and his own healing process followed to alleviate the pain.

Gaining Precious Moments with Chi Breathing
C Y Leong aged 65, suffered a heart attack during a golf game in Singapore. He was gasping for air whilst waiting for the paramedics to arrive. According to him, 'I was unable to inhale as my chest felt like a block of cement. I was slipping into unconsciousness. The pain in my chest was intense and I thought I was going to die. Then I remembered the deep Chi breathing using the diaphragm I'd learned in a Chi Dynamics workshop many years earlier. I started to use soft Chui breathing, gently moving the lower abdomen with the inhalation and exhalation of the breath, slowly but surely the chest congestion eased. The pain and the panic in me subsided. I cannot thank you enough, Sifu.' Mr Leong smiled when he recounted this experience to me, when we met again, many years later. When the paramedics arrived, they rendered assistance and drove him to the hospital, where he had three bypasses. The Chi Dynamics breathing method had helped keep him alive, until help arrived.
C Y Leong, as told to Anthony Wee
Harnessing Chi for self-healing
During a routine medical check-up in April of 2010, my cardiologist discovered that my creatinine levels had shot up to 218 and my eGFR (a measure of the kidney function) had dropped to 27, indicating significant kidney impairment. In hind-sight, I realize that this was self-inflicted as I had the habit of delaying going to the toilet. It resulted in hydro-nephrosis, the back flow of urine from bladder into the kidney thus causing severe impairment of my kidney function. I was hospitalized for 5 days, during which they closely monitored my urine flow, eGFR and creatinine levels. I was discharged when the creatinine dropped to 190 and eGFR increased to 29. The nephrologists recommended a low protein diet and close monitoring of my kidney function. He also recommended that I return for a blood and urine test every 3 months. For 1.5 years, my eGFR and creatinine levels did not deteriorate, nor did it improve.
In July 2011, a friend of my wife introduced her to Chi Dynamics and suggested that it might help me too. The more I learned about Chi Dynamic and the benefits it offered for health maintenance and healing, the more inspired I was to pursue the art fervently. Chi Dynamics was very much about developing the internal chi flow in one's body and organs to help improve the overall function and health. I was convinced that regular practice of Chi Dynamics would help me harness the good effects of Chi for internal self-healing and health maintenance. Six months after practising Chi Dynamics, I had a routine test and was pleasantly surprised that my creatinine had gone down to 178 and the eGFR had gone up to 34 – thus moving me from "severely impaired" to "moderately impaired". Besides following a strict low protein diet which my wife closely monitors, I attribute my improvement to the Chi Dynamic exercises and personal guidance from Grandmaster Anthony Wee himself.
For the past 9 months, I have been maintaining the creatinine level at ~170+ and eGFR level above 33. With the encouragement of Grandmaster Anthony Wee and my fellow Chi Dynamic members, I am confident that I will improve further and move myself to "mildly impaired" soon.

Life returned to normal – thank you, Anthony Wee!
Being a doctor, I was rather sceptical when Anthony Wee explained to me about the effects and power of Qi more than 25 years ago. Despite being sceptical, I did go on to learn how to bring about Qi through conscious abdominal breathing together with the five types of exhalation. I not only continued to practise it every night but was confident enough to share my Qi with my patients who were ill; most of these patients have survived more than ten years, especially those whom I taught how to produce their own Qi.
In early 2012, I discovered I had cancer of the ovary which had already advanced to stage 3 and spread throughout my abdomen. I went through surgery to remove my colon and several months of chemotherapy which took a toll on me. I was in great pain as the chemo not only killed the cancer cells but also the normal cells. As a result, my mouth was full of ulcers and I could hardly eat or walk. My whole body was literally battered as if I had gone through a boxing match. Going through such an ordeal, I had often thought of the times when I had helped my friends and patients with cancer and prayed for help. God heard my plea and all kinds of help did come in the form of even strangers who offered me Qi, Reiki and QT. They came every day, and although I did feel a little better, my condition deteriorated in mid October during the time when my chemotherapy treatment ended.
As chance would have it, a friend mentioned to me that Anthony was in town and I immediately rushed to meet him on 7 November. He spent two hours with me, teaching me to breathe (block breathing) and opening my blocked yin and yang channels. As recommended by him, I practiced block breathing five times a day for 30 to 40 minutes diligently and went on a vegetarian diet.
My condition improved tremendously and Anthony was pleasantly surprised that I recovered so well when we met again, a month later on 6 December. I actually felt very good with Qi in and around me. My unbearable body pain disappeared and I could once again walk upright without clutching my abdomen, which has foot long vertical scar. I also no longer had the need of a girdle! Life returned to normal and I can drive again after a year, for which I am very thankful to Sifu Anthony – my healer!

Miraculous recovery from 4th stage cancer
Eighteen months ago, I was diagnosed with 4th stage breast cancer which spread to my spine and ribs. I was very weak and my weight had dropped to 30+ kg. Little did I know that my oncologist had given me only 6 months to live. My son kept this prognosis from me and only told me recently when he saw my health improving. I am now able to maintain an active life – going shopping on my own, attending Qigong exercise and doing house work. Recently I went back to see my oncologist who specializes in bone cancer and he told me that although my cancer is still present, it is under control. He told me to come back for another review in 12 months and had not prescribed any treatment or medication.
After being diagnosed with cancer, some friends introduced me to Chi Dynamics Qigong. Grandmaster Anthony Wee taught me block breathing and administered acupressure cupping to help ease the pain I was experiencing. He also put me on a strict nutritional diet to assist in my healing. Since then, I have been plasticising "block breathing" 3 to 4 times daily, for up to 45 minutes during each session. The breathing exercises helped to ease the constant pain I was experiencing. I saw Master Wee every week and by the 3rd month of regular practice I felt a tremor coursing through my body. Initially, I felt it only in some parts but subsequently, it was more pronounced throughout the body. It felt good and gave me a feeling of lightness.
Encouraged by my progress, I continued to practice and have never taken a day off. My diet is completely glucose and meat free. I consume more vegetables, some fish and chicken, organic fresh unprocessed local food, herbs and supplements.
Although I no longer see Master Wee regularly, I continue to practice breathing on my own till I experience the tremors. I feel good, am pain free and have gained some weight. I believe that the Qigong block breathing taught by Grandmaster Anthony Wee has helped me regain my strength and kept my cancer in check.

My Cancel Healing Journey
In November 2011, I discovered that I had Stage 2 Breast Cancer after a tumour was removed from my left breast. Instead of undergoing chemo/radiotherapy after the surgery, I decided to change my lifestyle by going on a healthy diet of 2-3 portions of fish/chicken weekly, fruit juices and exercise. I was happy to go back to work after a month’s rest but unfortunately another lump appeared in April 2012 and had to be removed immediately.
After the second surgery, I opted for chemo/radiotherapy treatment and underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy and 25 days of radiotherapy between May and August 2012. Whilst continuing with my vegetarian diet, I also took up Qigong exercises and enhanced my spiritual beliefs.
It was after a week into my chemo treatment that I learned about Grandmaster Anthony Wee’s book from my cousin. We immediately looked up the Chi Dynamics’ website and I signed up for the classes. Since then, with both my cousin and sister’s support, we travelled 40 km every day to attend Khadijah’s class for the next three months.
Basically, the Chi Dynamics therapy is simply regular doses of Block Breathing, exercises and a healthy diet. As it worked so marvellously well for me, please allow me to share my experience with you.
My daily routine
I start each morning by drinking 4 cups of filtered water before doing 30 minutes of Block Breathing, after which I would drink a cup of fresh vegetable juice and then proceed to do my Qigong exercises. Breakfast is next, followed by another 30 minutes of Block Breathing.
I would complete another two more sessions of Block Breathing before the end of the day. In between these sessions, I keep myself occupied with washing, cooking and walking my two dogs. On certain days, I could manage to squeeze in an additional session of Block Breathing which I find so beneficial.
In addition, I attend Grandmaster’s weekly cupping treatment on Saturday mornings to boost my immune system. After each cupping treatment, I find that I could breathe very deeply during my Block Breathing sessions for the next couple of days.
How Block Breathing has benefitted me
As you will gather by now, Block Breathing has played a very important role in my cancer healing journey so far. Below are the reasons:
· After each session of Block Breathing I would feel fresh, relaxed & rejuvenated.
· My appetite during treatment and until today has been very good. Many of my friends were pleasantly surprised that I could out eat them!
· I was warned of mouth sores, but luckily I only experienced very light peeling of skin in the mouth. I also practised ‘oil pulling’ in the mornings and use a herbal-based toothpaste.
· When I have trouble falling asleep some nights, Block Breathing does wonders to help to calm my anxious feeling of not being able to sleep. Invariably, I would fall into deep sleep whilst practising Block Breathing.
· Block Breathing certainly generates quality sleep. Although I sometimes manage with only 4-5 hours of sleep after Block Breathing, I would still be able to wake up fresh to perform my daily routine. Seeing how much I have benefitted from Block Breathing, my husband also picked up deep diaphragm breathing and this has helped him tremendously in falling asleep almost immediately every night!
· I was warned of nausea after chemo treatment but fortunately I never experienced it. There were occasions when I felt nausea coming on but it would just go away as soon as I lie down for a Block Breathing session.
· My body joints, especially at the pelvic and lower back areas, would ache 1 – 2 days after chemo. However, the aches would disappear after a session of Block Breathing without having to take the medication prescribed by my oncologist, who was not at all pleased when I told him that I don’t need the medication after my first visit.
· On days whilst waiting to see my doctor, I would keep myself busy practising Block Breathing in my seat. Unknowingly, this helped me to maintain normal body temperature and blood pressure readings.
· Another noticeable benefit I experienced is that Block Breathing relieves the discomfort of the tightening feeling of my left breast when I first lie down.
· There were times when I experienced dizzy spells after rushing around in between house chores and appointments but here again, just 10 minutes of Block Breathing would set me up as good.
· So far, I have experienced three incidents of skin rash (twice during chemo treatment and once couple of months ago). My oncologist prescribed two tubes of medication for me to apply and I was instructed by the pharmacist to stop using it as soon as the rash has subsided because the medication contained steroid. I never used it. Each time I felt itchy, I would focus on deep breathing or slapping (paida) wherever that was itchy. The rash would last 4-5 days.
On my last visit to my oncologist after completion of all my treatment, I presented him all the unused expensive medication he had prescribed me, to be given to his patients who could not afford them.
After two years since I first started my chemo treatment, I continue to practise an hour of Qigong exercises in the morning and at least 2-3 sessions of Block Breathing daily. I still attend Grandmaster’s cupping treatment sessions. I strongly believe that Block Breathing has helped me calm my anxieties, manage my body aches and rashes, sleepless nights, overall oxygenating and energising my entire body.
As Grandmaster Wee always say, quote “We have to fight cancer at all frontiers, by conventional treatment, Qiqong, diet, etc” & “Block Breathing serves as a daily ‘medication’ to counter the cancer cells, therefore we need to practise it at least 4 times a day”.

My road to recovery with Chi Dynamics
My friends from school days say I have done well, both on the home front and at work. I enjoyed working and was hardly ever sick, except for the occasional back pain due to a prolapsed disc.
In July 2011, I was admitted to the emergency room for severe abdominal pain. A CT scan and X-ray revealed a 3.5 cm tumour blocking the lower colon. My doctors recommended immediate surgery and I was diagnosed with Stage 3B colon cancer. My world collapsed and I felt as if I had been dealt with a death sentence. There is no history of cancer in my family!
My life had taken an unpleasant turn and I needed a lot of positive motivation to go through my ordeal. I am very fortunate to have a husband and two children who gave me great emotional support, took good care of me, and constantly cheered me on. I also had many good friends who helped me through this difficult period of my life.
After 3 surgeries over a span of 9 days, I had to undergo 8 cycles of chemotherapy. I was advised by cancer survivors to eat, and to drink (blended) vegetables and fruits (non-sweet), to maintain a positive mindset and to exercise regularly. I put myself on a strict diet and did light walking exercises.
When the benefits of ‘Qigong’ were highlighted and recommended repeatedly by many friends, I searched for a qigong class conducted in English. A good friend also gave me Grandmaster Anthony Wee’s “Cancer Care with Chi Dynamics” book which I read and discovered that the Block Breathing exercise was easy to follow. I eventually found the Chi Dynamics Centre and was delighted to know that the Grandmaster himself was teaching there.
My first meeting with Grandmaster took place shortly after my second Chemo. I was so weak then that I could hardly manage the two flights of stairs to the centre.
At the centre, Grandmaster Wee and his team of instructors taught me the Block Breathing exercise, which I practised diligently five times a day, with each session getting easier as I progressed. Grandmaster Wee also boosted my immunity with acu-cupping treatments and as a result, I was able to complete the 8 cycles of chemotherapy with minimal side effects.
Both the Block Breathing and Qigong exercises helped me a lot whilst I was undergoing treatment, and I was able to go back to work in July 2012. Since then I have been maintaining a routine of Block Breathing exercises twice a day; I am also attending the Chi Dynamics Qigong class every Saturday.

Qigong improved my immunity tremendously
In March of 2012, I was diagnosed with colon cancer through a routine medical examination. A surgery was immediately scheduled and the histology from the resected tumour and lymph nodes confirmed it was stage 2B. In May, the cancer marker continued to rise. Sadly, it had metastasized to my liver and I went from stage 2B to a stage 4.
As a young mother of three beautiful children under the age of 6, I was completely shattered and numbed. I had a tough battle ahead of me and knew I had to do something to prepare myself for the fight of my life – 12 rounds of chemo and the resection of 60% of my liver. I started with Chi Dynamics (Bukit Kiara) and was so happy to find out that Grandmaster Anthony Wee was residing in Malaysia. I went to see him and walked away feeling hopeful and invigorated. He made me feel that not all was lost. Wisely, he told me that I needed to fight this on all fronts. Physically, I had to strengthen my body through qigong and exercise; Emotionally, I had the support of my loving husband, family and friends; Spiritually, I had to have faith in God; Nutritionally, I had to eat healthy. I was advised to eat like a diabetic. I was no longer allowed sugar and it also ruled out sweet fruits, white rice, and processed food containing white flour, and anything that has a high GI. I was asked to drink plenty of cleansing teas – parsley, lemon grass, coriander and mint. He taught me block breathing, standing meditation and also did acu-cupping for me. By August, when underwent the liver surgery, I felt fit. I recovered and responded well to chemotherapy and also recovered from the second surgery quickly without complications. In addition to the diet prescribed by Sifu, I started drinking 3-5 large glasses of blended vegetable (11 varieties of cancer fighting vegetables) a day and taking Flaxseed oil blended with Cottage Cheese (Budwig Diet) with berries. I continue to do 30 minutes of loosening exercises and 30-40 minutes of standing meditation 5-6 times a week and daily block breathing.
By the grace of God, I believe that qigong helped me tremendously. It improved my immunity and allowed my body to fight a good fight. I continue to practice qigong and adhere to a strict diet and will do so for the rest of my life. I thank Grandmaster for walking this tough journey with me.

Relief from Anxiety
Anxiety was affecting my breathing and overall health, as I had just given up smoking and was scared of the damage to my lungs from that disgusting habit. Since starting with Chi Dynamics Breathing and exercise classes with Doreen, I am feeling my lung capacity has greatly improved. I practice every day to keep my mind, body and soul refreshed with oxygen and energy. Since starting Kung Fu classes with Shane, it very fulfilling to be able to merge the ‘Chi’ with the Kung Fu. Quite a change from being totally inactive and unhealthy! I am now incorporating the breathing methods when I play tennis and go jogging.

More Energy to Help Others
I am a reflexologist and from my knowledge of working with various 'internal' channels of the body, I find that Chi Dynamics really concentrates on improving internal aspects of the body as well as overall physical health. During these eight months of constant practice, it has helped me immensely. I feel fitter and have more energy now to treat more patients daily. I have since recommended all my patients to take up Chi Dynamics.

Thanky you, Chi Dynamics!
In January 2006, I woke up one morning with pain on my right side from the waist down to the leg. The pain was so intense that I could hardly walk.
When I consulted doctors at the Singapore General Hospital, I was told that my ankle tendon had worn out and that I may have to live with the pain and discomfort for the rest of my life as the chances of the ankle healing completely are only 50% even after an operation.
For two years, besides physiotherapy at the hospital, I sought alternative treatment elsewhere; these included acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine but without any success. I continued to walk with difficulty and pain, and had to climb up stairs gingerly step by step holding on to the side railing for support. To add to my woes, I also suffered from a tennis elbow and could hardly lift up even a small bag. However, my plight took a turn when I joined the Chi Dynamics training group at Changkat Community Centre in 2008. I consulted Grandmaster Anthony Wee after a seminar he conducted at the Centre in May 2008 and he taught me a simple arm exercise which can be practised anywhere and anytime. Before I knew it, my right elbow was restored to normal after some months of practice. And miraculously, not only was my right ankle also cured but my blood pressure was reduced from a high 150/70 to a stable 130/65 as well!
Since then, there was no looking back and I continued to practise Qigong regularly.
I now enjoy good health and would like to thank Grandmaster Anthony Wee, Sifu Lawrence Chong, Alice and Mrs Chong for making it possible.

Restoring Mobility without Painkillers
It is said, “When the student is ready the teacher will appear.” For nearly 20 years, I had been taking anti-inflammatory medication and painkillers for chronic osteo-arthritis. Finally, I could take no more without being sick. Then I read about Chi Dynamics in the local community newspaper. I started attending the basic class twice a week, learning how to breathe and doing the exercises, both in class and at home. It has changed my life. I am now living a drug-free life, moving freely and without pain. My vitality has increased and my joie d’ vie has returned. Thank you, Sifu Anthony Wee.
